BMDCC 2005
Bloomin’
Draft Tests
were held at Crescent Park in Surrey, BC
on June 4th & 5th, 2005. We had great ‘draft’ weather on Saturday, dry and
warm (but not too hot) and Sunday was cool with
some rain in the afternoon.
We had a terrific entry
both days - 3 Draft Dog Excellent (DDX) & 19 Draft Dog (DD) participants
on Saturday and 7 Brace Draft Dog (BDD) and 8 Draft Dog (DD) entries on
Sunday. There were some wonderful draft performances and a number of
‘firsts’ over the weekend including the largest CKC Draft Test entry, the
first group of judges to utilize the new group option for the DDX Freight
Haul & Backpack as well as the DD Field Work exercises and the
first ever CKC Brace Draft Dog
titles awarded to Bernese Mountain dogs!
It was a real pleasure to
watch so many well prepared teams demonstrate their skills and teamwork.
The entrants seemed to really enjoy the group exercises - especially with
the lead dog changes - and it was so exciting to watch the Brace Draft
teams ’pull together’!
