Lisa Ebnet (USA)
Sweepstake Judge

Ms. Ebnet’s love of dogs began early and from age 8 –18
she participated, competed, served and eventually led the local 4-H dog
club. Her first purebred dog was a Shetland Sheepdog who introduced her to
a wonderful mentor who assisted Lisa throughout 10 years of showing and
breeding Shelties. In 1992, after college and marriage, Mrs. Pike
entrusted Lisa with 4 of her beautiful dogs and she continues to build on
this foundation. Lisa has attended multiple dog shows in 11 different
countries and continues to further her knowledge by visiting with other
Berner breeders throughout the world. As a perpetual and passionate student of canine anatomy and
physiology, Lisa has also attended many classes, clinics and seminars
conducted by local clubs, universities and respected trainers,
veterinarians and breeders.
Lisa has earned AKC, CKC and UCI championships on more
than twenty of her own Bernese – and has earned multiple draft and
obedience titles, CGC designations and therapy dog titles as well. She is
very active in the sport of draft in the Pacific Northwest and has judged,
chaired and/or organized multiple draft events and helped over 150 Draft
teams get started through her carting clinics and seminars. She has also
judged local all-breed conformation and obedience matches for 4-H groups
and local clubs. She is a member of the CKC, BMDCA, BMDCC, BMDCGS, INWBMDC
and is currently the Past President of the PNWBMDF. Continual education
and ongoing evaluation of many dogs is essential for becoming a better
judge of breed strengths and weaknesses - and Lisa tries to apply this
knowledge to her own breeding program as well. She has bred and shown the
Best of Opposite at the 2001 BMDCA Nationals, 2000 and 2002 BMDCC
Nationals. She has shown several dogs to AOM at both the BMDCA and BMDCC
national and regional specialties. But, 2002 BMDCC nationals was a
highlight with handling a dog she purchased in Belgium to WD, BW and BOB,
while her husband, Sean, handled one of their own girls to BOS.
