 DRAFT TEST REPORT

Another successful draft test was held Saturday, 6 April 2002.  Very pleased to advise we have two more DDX’s in Canada:

bullet

Bernese Mtn. Dog; Alpenblick’s Hi Lindy Lou Who, CD, owned by Gordon and Ann Mather.

bullet

Bouvier;  Blackpowders Jazzed on Java, owned by Donna Rioux

 Two DD’s were also earned;

bullet

Vizsla; CH. OTCH. Vizslanda’s Golden Angel, TD, owned by Blair and K. Kilgour.  (first Vizsla in Canada to earn a DD)

bullet

Flat Coat Retreiver, Ch. Costalight Blac Coffee in Bed, WC. JH, owned by Wendy MacDonald.  (This is Wendy’s second Flat Coat to earn a DD.  The first one earned its DDX three months after earning its DD)

So sorry that the other dogs entered did not make it today.  Most of them only failed one section of the test.  There were three other Bernese entered.  Two of them came from Washington and Oregon.

We had quite a crowd.  Many other Bernese people came by to watch.  Some people were interested in the breed and came by to ask lots of questions.  Others brought their dogs for a visit.  Many Newfs and Goldens.

As well as our eleven month Entlebucher, a four month old Swissy came by.  We were lucky to have three of the four Sennen Hunds present.  These two puppies had fun playing together.

Our judges were wonderful.  They certainly put the entrants at ease and gave them a lot of encouragement, before and after the test.

We would like to thank the Victoria Cartwheelers for the donation they gave to the Club.

We had a large Newfy contingent present.  They are always there to help out.  We have a good relationship with them.  Many Goldens were present along with a couple of puppies.

Bowen Park was as beautiful as ever with all the spring flowers in bloom and the Millstream River rushing through the middle.  Good thing the dogs do not mind pulling their carts over the bridge.  In two tests I have never noticed that it bothered any of the dogs.

Now we start making plans for next years test.  Hope to see the other Bouvier and Vizsla, Samoyed, Golden and Newfoundland and the Berns back next year.

Respectfully submitted

Coral S. Denis, Test Secretary.
