(There will also be 2 x Rally Obedience Trails 26 June 2009 and 4 x All Breed Obedience Trials on 27-28 June 2009)

Rosettes and prizes will be offered for the Highest qualifying score for a Bernese Mountain Dog
in each of the All-Breed Obedience Trials (two on Saturday & 2 on Sunday)

Specialty Obedience Class Offered

We are offering an number of options for obedience enthusiasts.  With four trials, anyone wishing to attempt to complete a CKC obedience title will have the opportunity to do so this weekend.  The All-Breed Club will also be holding 2 obedience trials on each of the four days of the show weekend (total of 8 All-Breed obedience trials).  For our specialty obedience trails we are offering a number of transitional and non-regular classes.  Here is a description of the obedience classes being offered:

Obedience Regular Classes:

Novice A, Novice B Obedience_trial_rules/novice_class.shtml

Obedience Transitional Classes:

Dogs may be entered in the Novice Intermediate and/or Novice "C" in addition to any one of the Official Classes or Unofficial Classes.

Pre-Novice class shall be for purebred dogs of any breed and those breeds as designated on the list of miscellaneous class breeds and of either sex, which have not earned the title of P.C.D. (Pre-Companion Dog) in Canada. Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class and must have an additional handler for each dog when they are judged together in the Group Exercise. A dog may be entered in the Pre-Novice that has not earned the title of C.D. in Canada or a comparable title in any other country. The Pre-Novice class is an elective class and earning a title is not a requirement to advance to the Novice Classes.

Novice-Intermediate class shall be for purebred dogs of any breed and those breeds as designated on the list of miscellaneous class breeds and of either sex that have earned the title of (C.D.) Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, Utility Dog and any other advanced obedience title in Canada. A dog eligible for entry in the Open A or B class at any obedience trial held under these rules is also eligible for entry in the Novice C and Novice Intermediate class at the same trial. The Novice Intermediate class (C.D.I.) is an elective class and earning a title is not a requirement to advance to a Companion Dog Excellent title. Scores earned by dogs competing in this class are not eligible for High In Trial. Dogs are eligible to compete in this class indefinitely. Dogs in this class may be handled or exhibited by the owner or any other person. A person may enter more than one dog in this class.

Novice "C" class is open to any dog of either sex that has gained the title Companion Dog, Companion Dog Excellent, Utility Dog or any other advanced obedience title in Canada prior to the closing date of the trial in which it is to be entered. Exhibitors may enter more than one dog in this class but must have a separate handler for each dog in the Long Sit and the Long Down exercises when they are judged in the same group. The Novice "C" exercises will be performed and judged as described in the official Novice class except that exhibitors may compete in the Novice "C" class indefinitely. Scores earned by dogs entered in the Novice "C" class are not eligible for High In Trial.

Obedience Unofficial Class (Specialty Obedience Only):

Brace Obedience - is open to any two dogs of either sex which have attained no less than a CD degree in Canada. It is not necessary that the same person own both dogs, nor that they be of the same sex. The exercises shall be the same as those in Novice.

Veteran's Obedience - shall be for dogs that have an obedience title and are 7 years old on the day of the trial. The exercises shall be performed and judged as in the Novice Class.  Dogs entered in the Veterans Class may also be entered in any Regular class or for Exhibition Only.
